Membership terms and gym rules
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms apply to every membership and day pass at Wellness Empire Gym, run by Wellness Empire Gym Limited (RC 9647466). By joining, online or at reception, you agree to them. Please read them; they are short.
1. Your membership
- A membership gives you access to the gym floor during opening hours for the length of your plan. Personal training, massage and group packages are separate services and are paid for separately.
- Your membership is personal to you. You may not lend your member card or let anyone else use your membership.
- Show your member card (QR code) at the front desk each time you visit.
- You must be at least 16 years old to join. Members aged 16 or 17 need written consent from a parent or guardian.
2. Plans, payment and start dates
- Current prices are shown on our memberships page. We may change prices for future periods; a price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
- You can pay online through our payment provider, or at reception by transfer, card on our POS, or cash. Transfers must go to our company account, Wellness Empire Gym Ltd at Moniepoint Microfinance Bank. Never pay into a personal account; we will never ask you to.
- Online payments activate your membership as soon as our payment provider confirms them. Payments at reception are recorded and confirmed by our staff, and you receive a receipt.
- A day pass is valid for the day it is bought only.
- If you renew before your membership ends, the new period starts the day after the current one ends, so you never lose days by renewing early.
3. Grace periods and freezing
- Monthly plans have a 3-day grace period after expiry, and bi-weekly plans 1 day, during which you may still train while you renew. If you renew within the grace period, the new period follows on from the old end date.
- Monthly members may freeze their membership for up to 7 days per month for travel or illness. Ask the manager before the freeze starts. The frozen days are added to the end of your membership.
- Bi-weekly plans and day passes cannot be frozen.
4. Refunds and transfers
- Memberships and day passes are not refundable once the period has started, and cannot be transferred to another person, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
- If you were charged twice or paid the wrong amount, tell us with your payment reference and we will correct it promptly, by refund or by credit to your membership.
- If you cannot train for a long period for medical reasons, speak to the manager. We will look at each case fairly, for example by extending your membership.
5. Your health and safety
- You must complete our health questionnaire before training, answer it honestly, and tell us if your health changes. If you answer "yes" to a question, we may ask you to check with a doctor before training or to follow an adapted programme.
- Train within your limits and stop if you feel unwell, dizzy or in pain. Tell a member of staff straight away.
- Ask a trainer if you are not sure how to use a piece of equipment.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury or loss caused by our negligence or where the law does not allow it to be limited. Otherwise, you use the gym and its equipment at your own risk.
6. Gym rules
- Wear suitable training clothes and clean, closed training shoes. Bring a towel and wipe equipment after use.
- Return weights and equipment to their place. Do not drop weights except on designated platforms.
- Be respectful of other members and staff. Harassment, abusive language or behaviour, and unwanted photos or videos of other people are not allowed.
- No alcohol, illegal drugs or performance-enhancing drugs on the premises. No smoking or vaping.
- Children under 16 are not allowed on the gym floor.
- Keep your belongings with you or in the space provided. We are not responsible for items left unattended.
- Follow staff instructions, including in an emergency.
7. Ending a membership
Your membership simply ends at the end of the period you paid for; there is no automatic renewal and no notice is needed. We may suspend or end a membership, without refund, if a member seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, puts others at risk, or uses someone else's membership. We will tell you why.
8. Opening hours and closures
Our normal opening hours are shown on the contact page. We may close or change hours for public holidays, maintenance or reasons outside our control. If the gym is closed for more than 2 consecutive days for reasons within our control, we will add the days to active memberships.
9. Your personal information
How we use your information, including your health answers, is explained in our privacy notice.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the version on this page applies from the date above, and changes will not take away rights for a period you have already paid for. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Questions or complaints: support@wellnessempire.ng or 0803 785 8988.
